This is a hidden gem. Surprisingly good beer selection. Reasonable prices. Good service. I would expect it to be much busier than it is (I have never had to wait to find a table).
Food was delicious, especially the French onion soup. Our server, I believe it was David was fantastic. A pleasant, helpful, and handsome young lad. The drinks were great too.
Stopped by with my frenchie pup and my girlfriend for a quick lunch. The server sat us outside.we both ordered Arnold palmers to drink(not sweetened) but it was still a solid drink. I ordered a turkey club sandwich with sweet potato fries( super crispy and delicious)and my girl ordered the siracha honey chicken sandwich with onion rings, she loved it. Overall it was phenomenal and we love the fact that they’re super pet friendly, we will definitely be back.
Been here a few times now and Suspenders Restaurant and Bar is an old time but modern, family friendly place in an off the beaten path in Union Nrw Jersey. It's a 10 minute walk from the Union Train Station and Kean University so easy to get to. The Food is reasonable price, served in a timely manner and really tasted great. I love the quesadillas and the burgers are very good too. Drinks are very good and priced just right. They have TVs and you can with or without kids just sit at the bar or you can sit outside which I love to do when the weather is appropriate. With a friendly owner and service staff, great tasting food and some really great drinks, I recommend that you check it out when in the area.
I had a fantastic experience at Suspenders Restaurant and Pub, probably my fourth time here so that means it’s time for a review. The team, and our outstanding server David, made the evening memorable. The chicken franchise, bang bang shrimp, and Sausage Rigatoni were all rich in flavor and exceptional in quality, making it impossible to pick a favorite. I’m eager to return and try the fish and chips next time. The diverse menu and welcoming atmosphere at Suspenders truly make it a standout dining destination.

Fish and chips were high quality with very little grease and a lot of fresh cod. French fries were hand cut and delicious and even their flatbread pizza was good. Lots of different beer choices, although some may be out of stock but still very good. Would recommend for dinner and drinks 🫶
The name is from the 90's, the food is very modern classic American fare. I had to come into town for banking and this restaurant was recommended to me by the folks at the bank. I had wings, a Greek salad and a ginger ale. The wings were crispy and cooked all the way through, the salad was very fresh. There were a few families in there and they had a nice selection of sporting events. I got to watch womens gymnastics, it wasnt just March madness on every screen. I took the wings home and they reheated perfectly. This is going on my list of Jersey restaurants that I can hit up before the long drive back to New England.
